Week Ahead | 'Super Event Week' kicks off! SpaceX prepares for IPO; Apple holds WWDC with Siri AI as the main highlight; World Cup begins, Oracle earnings and US-China CPI data due

Overview of Key Events for the New Week
The largest IPO in history is coming! SpaceX is set to go public
In the coming week, the market will迎来 a series of important events, but the most anticipated remains SpaceX's potential initial public offering (IPO). SpaceX is expected to begin its offering and finalize the price on June 11, with shares scheduled to start trading on June 12 under the ticker symbol "$SpaceX (SPCX.US)$ " on both Nasdaq and Nasdaq Texas.
SpaceX plans to issue approximately 555.6 million shares at $135 per share, raising $75 billion, implying a valuation of nearly $1.77 trillion. The $75 billion fundraising amount would easily surpass Saudi Aramco's record-setting $29.9 billion IPO in 2019, making it the largest public listing in history.
Additionally, it has been reported that on June 11, SpaceX also plans to host a major investor event, inviting 1,500 retail investors to attend.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, at an issue price of $135,Musk's net worth would reach $988 billion, just a hair's breadth away from becoming the world's first trillionaire. A mere 2.2% increase in the stock price to $138 would mark this historic milestone.
Apple's WWDC developer conference may unveil an upgraded Siri
Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference 2026 (WWDC 2026) will take place from June 8 to 12 local time (June 9 to 13 Beijing time). JPMorgan expects Apple’s AI moment of truth is approaching. Apple is expected to announce a major overhaul of Siri at WWDC, including launching Siri as a standalone app, potentially switching its underlying model from in-house development to Google’s Gemini, and offering users multiple third-party AI model options—making ChatGPT no longer the sole external choice. On the product front, a foldable iPhone and a touchscreen Mac are set to debut simultaneously, while the iPhone 18 series could see a price increase of approximately USD 50.
Morgan Stanley notes that the market has largely failed to fully price in AI-related upside for Apple’s stock, and this low expectation creates an ideal 'favorable setup.' If Apple presents a polished and compelling 'AI agent' vision at the event, its valuation could surge from the current base target price of USD 330 to as high as USD 385. Goldman Sachs similarly believes that by comprehensively reimagining Siri, Apple will swiftly establish leadership in consumer-facing AI.
Inflation data from China and the U.S. released sequentially
China’s May import data will be released on June 9, followed by China’s May CPI and PPI figures on June 10. Next week, China’s May financial data will also be published.
On inflation,Hua Chuang Securities expects the year-on-year PPI to rise from 2.8% to around 3.5%, and the CPI to increase year-on-year to approximately 1.4%. This uptick in CPI is driven by two factors: first, food prices may perform better than seasonal trends, with policy support stabilizing expectations and pork prices holding steady; second, the low base effect from the same period last year.
Regarding financial data,Direct financing deserves close attention. Social financing added in May is expected to total RMB 1.4 trillion, RMB 700 billion less than the same period last year. The year-on-year growth rate of outstanding social financing is projected to be around 7.5%. M2 is expected to grow by approximately 8.3% year-on-year in May, while the new M1 measure is forecast to rise by about 4.6% year-on-year.
The U.S. May CPI and PPI will be released on June 10 and 11, respectively.
Very early forecasts indicate that both headline and core U.S. CPI year-on-year growth rates will accelerate further, reaching 4.2% (the highest since June 2023) and 3%, respectively—a result likely to trigger sharp reactions across global financial markets.
Although dovish members within the Federal Reserve may view elevated inflation readings as transitory, the PPI data poses a genuinely troubling challenge. The U.S. year-on-year PPI is expected to surge above 6.5%, marking a new high since January 2023. Given the typical lag between these two reports, the sharp PPI increase could pave the way for further acceleration in CPI.
Notably, following the release of strong inflation data, the preliminary reading of the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index—due Friday—could hit a record low, sounding an alarm over a potential decline in consumer spending.
The Fed awaits its new chair’s debut; will the European Central Bank hike rates?
Against the backdrop of an exceptionally robust labor market and persistent inflationary pressures, the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on June 18 has become the focal point for global capital markets. This will not only be the first FOMC meeting since newly appointed Fed Chair Kevin Warsh took office, but it could also mark a pivotal shift in the Fed’s policy stance—from dovish to hawkish.
Markets widely expect the Federal Reserve to hold rates steady at its June meeting, but all the 'devils' lie in the details.Investors are closely watching the following three signals to assess whether rate hikes could resume in the second half of the year: first, the removal of the 'accommodative bias' from the policy statement; second, an upward shift in the center of gravity of the 'dot plot'; and third, a reset of risk weights.
Beyond the interest rate path, Waller has also pledged to bring about 'institutional changes' at the Federal Reserve. The new chair has consistently criticized Fed officials for speaking too frequently. Ellen Meade, a professor at Duke University, predicts thatWaller may establish a new communications framework by shortening press conferences and eliminating individual economic forecasts.
Zhipu AI and MiniMax are expected to be added to the Hang Seng Tech Index.
The two strongest-performing IPO stocks in the Hong Kong market— $KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK)$ and $MINIMAX-W (00100.HK)$ are expected to be included starting June 8 $Hang Seng TECH Index (800700.HK)$ , with a combined weighting of 5%–7%, which will trigger passive inflows of approximately USD 1.25 billion to USD 1.75 billion. Trading via Stock Connect will also gradually open. However, the real stress test comes with the lock-up expiration wave in July: Zhipu AI faces a 5.83% unlock, and MiniMax nearly 50%, putting liquidity premiums to the test.
The U.S.-Canada-Mexico World Cup kicks off.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026 local time. As the largest-ever tournament featuring 48 teams, it is set to ignite activity across the entire industry chain—from pre-tournament sports betting and merchandise stocking to in-tournament advertising, food and beverage consumption during matches, and travel and accommodation—potentially catalyzing publicly listed companies across the board.
Two major tech earnings reports are on deck: Oracle and Adobe.
Next week, the U.S. earnings season enters a relatively quiet phase. Although the overall number of reports is limited, $Oracle (ORCL.US)$ and $Adobe (ADBE.US)$ two heavyweight tech companies will report earnings sequentially, drawing significant market attention. Investors will pay close attention to AI-driven cloud revenue growth, resilience in software demand, and forward-looking guidance—factors that could influence sentiment across the tech sector.
Oracle has recently shown strong performance in cloud infrastructure, with sustained AI demand accelerating its business. The market anticipates the company will continue delivering high growth, particularly watching trends in remaining performance obligations, NetSuite cloud ERP performance, and its outlook for fiscal year 2027. If Oracle provides positive guidance, it could add momentum to the AI cloud infrastructure theme.
In addition to these two giants, several consumer and cyclical companies will also release earnings next week. For example, on June 8, $The Campbell's Co (CPB.US)$ and $Vail Resorts (MTN.US)$ among others, and on June 9 include $Caseys General Stores (CASY.US)$$JM Smucker (SJM.US)$ such as retail and consumer stocks, on June 11 there will also be $Lennar Corp (LEN.US)$ and other real estate-related companies. These firms are relatively small in size and have limited impact on the broader market, primarily reflecting the current state of the consumer and cyclical sectors.
