Cainiao: Logistics robots and other products have global competitiveness and will continue to build a global logistics technology service system

Recently, the Information and Communication Technology Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced 13 'Typical Cases of Value-added Telecommunications Business Enabling New Industrialization.' Projects from companies such as Baidu, Alibaba Cloud, China Mobile, China Unicom, and Cainiao were selected. Cainiao's selected project is an AI and automation-based smart logistics system for an automotive parts manufacturing company, creating a 'lights-out factory,' which has become a benchmark case for digital and intelligent transformation in the manufacturing industry.

In addition, Cainiao has just delivered a transportation service system for an international sporting event, featuring navigation for event venues and local public transportation services. During the event, athletes, staff, spectators, and tourists arriving from around the world can use a single app to enjoy official shuttle booking services as well as local train, subway, and bus services.

Whether domestically or overseas, the commercialization of Cainiao's logistics technology continues to make progress. Bi Jianghua, Vice President of Cainiao and General Manager of the Logistics Technology Division, stated that 2026 will be the breakout year for logistics technology. Cainiao will strengthen its investments in key markets such as Japan, South Korea, the United States, and Europe to build a global sustainable delivery and after-sales service system.

Only 13 nationwide, Cainiao selected

Recently, the Information and Communication Technology Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology disclosed 13 'Typical Cases of Value-added Telecommunications Business Enabling New Industrialization' with the aim of providing reference for industries and enterprises through application cases of digital technology in the industrial field.

After the project was implemented, it effectively addressed pain points in the automotive supply chain such as high costs, low efficiency, and lagging digitalization, improving labor efficiency by over 50%. Industry insiders commented that this project achieves cost reduction and efficiency improvement while ensuring production stability, offering a replicable and scalable practical model for the intelligent upgrading of traditional manufacturing.

Large-scale international event transportation service app, developed by CaiNiao!

The transportation service app for a recently globally launched international event allows users, upon registration, to conveniently search and navigate to various event venues, reserve official shuttle buses, and directly access the local main public transportation systems including buses, subways, trains, and taxis.

This means that when the event begins, hundreds of thousands of athletes, spectators, and tourists arriving from different countries around the world will be able to handle all their transportation needs through this app without having to register for various local bus systems or download local map data packages.

This large-scale international event transportation service system was developed and launched by CaiNiao. Industry insiders believe that CaiNiao’s accumulation of rich path-planning algorithm capabilities in areas such as freight transportation and courier dispatching, along with receiving international awards, is the core reason for securing this project.

CaiNiao Vice President: Increase investment in key markets like Japan, South Korea, Europe, and the US

Whether domestically or overseas, the commercialization of CaiNiao’s logistics technology continues to make progress. CaiNiao's Vice President and General Manager of the Logistics Technology Division, Bi Jianghua, recently stated that 2026 will be the breakout year for logistics technology. While deepening its foothold in the Chinese market, CaiNiao will continue expanding in emerging markets like Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America, while also strengthening investments in key mature markets like Japan, South Korea, the US, and Europe, continuously building a global sustainable delivery and after-sales system.

Taking the Japanese market as an example, Bi Jianghua believes that after multiple investigations and surveys, Japan’s fast-moving consumer goods retail industry is entering a peak period of logistics equipment upgrades. Although Japan’s automation technology is relatively mature, CaiNiao has advantages in research and application of new technologies like artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as logistics scenario operations. Products like logistics robots are competitive in the Japanese market. CaiNiao has already set up an office in Japan to establish a robust local delivery and after-sales capability, ensuring the provision of high-quality and reliable logistics technology products to the Japanese market.

It is reported that CaiNiao continues to invest in digital and automated R&D, combining logistics operational experience to create supply chain logistics technology products that are both technologically advanced and tailored to specific scenarios. To date, CaiNiao’s logistics technology products have been implemented in 27 countries and regions globally, with over 800 global cooperation projects.
