What scam have you seen? Come and share with us!
Dear fellow investor,
Recently, our community moderators have identified a group of 'traffic diverters'—they pose as helpful fellow investors, lurking in investment forums and chat groups, using seemingly attractive trading signals to gradually lure you onto external platforms like WhatsApp, where they ultimately carry out scams.
This is not ordinary spam—please take three minutes to read this carefully.
🎣 How do they operate?
Step 1: Set the hook
They post comments under popular threads or initiate messages in group chats, typically using scripts like:
"I followed the instructor last week and made 20% in three days—add my WhatsApp if you're interested: +xxxxxx" "We have a private group exclusively for long-term users; you need to join to see today's positions" "Officially partnered investment mentor with Niuniu—limited spots available, scan the QR code to join the group"
Step 2: Move off-platform
Once you add their contact or join an external group, your conversation leaves Niuniu’s secure environment entirely. This is precisely their goal—to lure you into spaces beyond regulatory reach.
Step 3: Execute the scam
Common scams include:
– Stock-picking fraud: Recommending "guaranteed-to-rise" stocks to lure you into taking positions, then manipulating share prices to exploit retail investors
– pump-and-dump scheme: After building trust over a long period, they entice you to transfer funds to third-party platforms under the guise of "exclusive investment channels" or "high-yield wealth management products"
– Phishing and account theft: Requesting your account details or ID documents to directly steal your assets

🛡️ Three ironclad rules to protect your money
① Keep investment discussions on NiuNiu
Legitimate investment discussions never require moving to any third-party platform. If someone urges you to continue the conversation on WhatsApp, WeChat groups, or Telegram, it’s almost certainly a scam.
② Official services—only trust Futu NiuNiu
Futu NiuNiu will never recommend individual stocks or sell paid services via community comments, private messages from strangers, or external group chats. Anyone claiming to be 'official' or 'partnered' is fake.
