Little Lei never expected that during the 15-hour live stream that day, Lei Jun relied on Red Bull to keep going when he was tired. He didn't dare to rest for even a moment. Any potentially controversial points were addressed by Lei Jun during the live stream.
It seems there was nothing left to criticize, so they resorted to outright slander.
On April 19, a chat record went viral across various WeChat groups, claiming that Lei Jun was cornered inside his car by car owners at the Dongtai Service Area in Yancheng for a rights protection protest.

A blurry screenshot, a video clip of more than ten seconds, and a few inflammatory captions.
From the video, Little Lei noticed a group of car enthusiasts surrounding a Xiaomi SU7 while Lei Jun looked down at his phone. The atmosphere did seem a bit tense, which misled many people who didn’t know the full story.

Who would have thought the news spread so quickly? Even Little Lei's WeChat groups weren’t spared, as several groups were sharing the post.

Soon, Xiaomi's PR General Manager Xu Jieyun reposted a rumor-refuting Weibo post with a firm stance:We will never tolerate such malicious acts of baseless rumors. Those fabricating and spreading false information can expect consequences.

Xiaolei casually scrolled through the comment section and noticed that many car enthusiasts had already stepped up to clarify.
In fact, it was just a group of Mi fans and car owners who voluntarily traveled from all over Jiangsu just to see President Lei and show their support. Some skipped work, others followed all the way from Linyi. Local car enthusiasts from Yancheng even made banners and prepared watermelons and team memorabilia.
More impressively, many car enthusiasts, fearing troublemakers, voluntarily gave up opportunities to shake hands with President Lei, get autographs, or take photos, quietly maintaining order from the sidelines.
Xiaolei Beebee (id: xiaolei bbb) specifically searched for the original video, the one without dubbing. Upon opening it, to his surprise, what the car enthusiasts were shouting was“Welcome, Brother Shuang. We are from the Jiangsu Car Enthusiasts Club. The 13 Guardians of Jiangsu welcome President Lei.”
The follow-up to the rumor video shows President Lei stepping out of his car, warmly greeting everyone, and even receiving gifts from fans.

What kind of nonsense is this? A perfectly good car enthusiasts meetup turned into a scene of complaints. All I can say is, some people will go to any length to slander.
The more absurd part is yet to come.
I also saw another version, even more ridiculous. Two pictures were spliced together claiming that Lei Jun's car broke down and had to be towed away, resulting in a failed challenge.
My dear friends, Lei Jun’s live broadcast never stopped, and netizens nationwide witnessed the whole thing. If the car really broke down, would we need you to expose it? It would have already become headline news.

Frankly speaking, the cost of spreading rumors is way too low nowadays, and they all follow the same old tricks: an ordinary person makes random claims, and a few blurry photos are enough to spread rumors across half the country. By the time the truth comes out, the damage has already been done.
It’s unclear what these people hope to gain. This rumor not only tarnished Lei Jun’s reputation but also disappointed those car enthusiasts who traveled long distances to support him.
One could say that Lei Jun’s endurance challenge was too successful, with energy consumption as low as 14.7 kWh per 100 kilometers, and covering 1,313 kilometers on just one charge. This completely disproved the skeptics, so now they’re resorting to fabricating rumors to feel relevant?
I always believe that whether running a business or living life, one must act with integrity. Relying on rumors for attention or to smear others will eventually lead to consequences.
Rumors travel far and wide while the truth is still putting on its shoes. Even under Xu Jieyun’s clarification post, there are still sarcastic comments.

So, what should we do in such a situation? Just being angry won’t help. Action must be firm. Simply issuing clarifications isn’t enough; rumor-mongers must pay the price. Legal action should be taken if necessary, and compensation claimed where appropriate. Xu Jieyun’s stance provided some relief to many fans.
What is most reassuring is that hundreds of car enthusiasts and fans at the scene were witnesses. They have come forward to reveal the truth, refuting the rumor-mongers with their own personal experiences. This mutual support between the fans and the company is still quite moving.

At 57 years old, President Lei personally conducted a 15-hour live stream to demonstrate the product’s capabilities, only to be met with such malicious slander. These trolls truly have no底线 (bottom line), whether for attention or financial gain, but they will eventually face consequences.
