Transcenta Appoints Dr. Kuang-Ching Huang as Global Head of Partnerships for HiCB Platform

Princeton, New Jersey, USA, and Suzhou, China, March 30, 2026 – Transcenta Holding (06628.HK), an international clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company with fully integrated capabilities in biologic drug discovery, development, process development, and manufacturing, announced today the appointment of Dr. Kuang-Ching Huang as the Global Head of Partnerships for its highly integrated continuous bioprocessing (HiCB) platform. This move aims to advance the global deployment and execution of Transcenta’s technology out-licensing strategy.

Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. in biochemical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has over 30 years of experience in biopharmaceutical CMC, technology development, and manufacturing. He has participated in seven commercial and six mid-to-late stage projects across recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, and gene therapy, making him an expert in the development of advanced continuous manufacturing technology platforms. Dr. Huang has held senior management positions at Genzyme and Sanofi. After joining Transcenta Group, he served as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Process Development, deeply contributing to the creation of the HiCB platform from scratch. In his new role, he will oversee global partnership initiatives, driving the implementation and value creation of the HiCB platform.

The HiCB platform integrates a continuous perfusion upstream process with a hybrid continuous downstream purification process, achieving a leap in production efficiency. Compared to traditional fed-batch processes, productivity can increase by 10 to 15 times. Additionally, by reducing product residence time in tanks and optimizing culture conditions, it maintains excellent product quality. Relying on this system, the HiCB platform can reduce production costs by at least 50%, lower capital investment, and support a more flexible 'on-demand production' model.

By the end of 2025, Dr. Huang led and facilitated a strategic collaboration and non-exclusive technology licensing agreement between Transcenta and Eterna Biotechnology (TWSE: 6589). Under this agreement, Eterna was granted access to the HiCB platform along with complete process documentation, core process technologies, expertise, and regulatory support services.

Building on this collaborative model, Transcent is expanding its global partnership network through non-exclusive technology licensing, helping partners improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance production flexibility. At the same time, the proceeds from these collaborations are being reinvested into strengthening the technology platform and advancing the R&D pipeline, with a commitment to developing next-generation, best-in-class innovative therapies.
