The fifth delivery is here again! CIDI and Taiwan Cement Group's autonomous mining trucks have been deployed in Chongqing

On March 8, six CIDI all-electric mining trucks were successfully delivered to Taimud Cement's Chongqing plant, markingthe successful completion of the fifth collaboration between the two parties. Since their cooperation began in 2022, CIDI has become Taiwan Cement Group's core provider of autonomous driving technology thanks to its robust product capabilities, mature technical solutions, and full-cycle attentive services,with a total deployment of 50 all-electric autonomous mining trucks, covering multiple mine sites including Jurong Plant in Jiangsu, Yingde Plant (Phase I & II) in Guangdong, Heping Plant, and Chongqing Plant. These tangible achievements exemplify the deep partnership based on 'trust and mutual benefit'.

Four years of cooperation with remarkable results

From the first collaboration in 2022 to the launch of the Chongqing project today, over four years, every deployment of CIDI's unmanned mining trucks has been a testament to its capabilities, and every step forward reflects deep trust.
In July 2022, 14 all-electric unmanned mining trucks were successfully delivered to the Taiment Jurong plant, officially kicking off the cooperation between the two parties. As the starting point of the partnership, the Jurong plant project has steadily advanced, achieving zero safety incidents, saving hundreds of millions of yuan, and maintaining stable operations for more than three years. Certified by the National Institute of Metrology, the unmanned driving operation efficiency at this plant reached 1.04 times that of manual driving, becoming a benchmark case for Taiment Group’s intelligent and green transformation.
In October 2024, Taincement Group made its first repeat purchase, with the Phase I project of 10 all-electric unmanned mining trucks implemented at the Yingde Plant in Guangdong. Based on the successful operational results from the Jurong Plant, CiDi Intelligent Driving precisely adapted to the working scenarios of Yingde Phase I, highlighting the efficiency and environmental benefits of the all-electric mining trucks, continuously expanding the coverage of all-electric unmanned transportation, and earning high recognition from Taincement Group, laying the groundwork for further deepened cooperation.

The year 2025 marks the 'Deepening Year' of cooperation between the two parties. In March, Taiwan Cement Group made its third purchase, and the project for 12 all-electric autonomous mining trucks at the Heping Plant was successfully implemented. Facing an adverse working environment characterized by frequent heavy fog and low visibility at this plant, CIDI Auto leveraged industry-leading perception and anti-interference technologies to ensure stable, uninterrupted operation of autonomous mining trucks under low-visibility conditions, precisely completing the entire process of loading, transporting, and unloading operations. This fully demonstrated the high reliability and strong adaptability of all-electric autonomous mining trucks in complex scenarios.

In October 2025, Phase II of the Yingde project officially commenced. Relying on the solid foundation of cooperation from Phase I, Taiwan Cement Group ordered eight additional all-electric autonomous mining trucks from CIDI Auto, further expanding the scope of cooperation and deepening the integration of technology and application in various scenarios.

By 2026, the fifth collaboration between the two parties extended to the southwestern region, with six CIDI all-electric mining trucks put into operation at Taimud Cement’s Chongqing plant. To date, the total number of all-electric mining trucks deployed through their partnership has reached 50. The newly deployed all-electric mining trucks will be adapted to Chongqing's rugged mountainous terrain and challenges posed by high temperatures and heavy fog, providing strong support for the intelligent upgrade of Taimud Group’s mining operations in the southwest region.

With the industry's strongest integrated perception solution, combining devices like LiDAR, high-definition cameras, and millimeter-wave radar, along with anti-interference algorithms, a 360° comprehensive environmental detection is achieved, accurately identifying risks such as obstacles, steep slopes, and sharp turns to ensure safety at the source. A self-developed onboard intelligent decision-making and control system enables fully unmanned operations and multi-vehicle collaborative scheduling, further enhancing transport efficiency. Paired with an intelligent management platform that monitors vehicle operation status and charging conditions in real time, providing fault warnings and remote debugging, effectively reducing operation and maintenance costs.
The successful implementation of the Taimud Cement Chongqing Plant project represents a significant milestone in deepening cooperation between both parties and also marks a new starting point for CIDI Autonomous Driving’s technology iteration and service upgrades. Moving forward, CIDI Autonomous Driving will continue to focus on core technology R&D for autonomous driving in mines, addressing differentiated operational needs within mining areas, continuously optimizing its self-developed perception, control, and operation systems, expanding diverse application scenarios for smart mines, and advancing hand-in-hand with partners like Taimud Group to steadily promote mine autonomous driving towards being safer, more efficient, intelligent, and environmentally friendly.
