1. Hard-earned lessons: rebirth after a tuition fee of 0.7 million.
Q: Sam, can you share your journey from loss to profit?
Sam: I started getting involved in the stock market in 2019, and the first few years were mostly "paying tuition," with considerable losses. Initially, I was obsessed with trading structured notes and heavily investing in low-priced stocks. Later, when I encountered a significant drop and panic-sold all my stocks at the bottom, I didn’t expect the market to rebound immediately. I then switched to trading again. $CBOE Volatility S&P 500 Index (.VIX.US)$ As a result, I incurred a maximum loss of 0.7 million HKD, and at that time, I really felt demotivated and wanted to leave the stock market. I was depressed for several months.
The turning point occurred when I began to seriously keep trading notes. I recorded every trade and deeply reflected on where I did well and where I went wrong. The biggest discovery wasthe mindset issue: Driven by FOMO, I always chased highs and sold low!Like many beginners, I feared a drop when stock prices rose and rushed to sell, but stubbornly held on when they fell, getting deeper in trouble.
Painfully reflecting, I completely adjusted my mindset and strategy. After that,I started with a capital of 0.29 million HKD and gradually made a profit of over 7.3 million HKD.。

Two or three major iron rules to lock in potential stocks that can 'change the world'.
Q: Aside from adjusting the mindset, what changes were made in strategy?
Sam: I am currently focused on mid to long-term trend investing, with analysis of a company's fundamentals as the core. I will carefully analyze the company's earnings reports, looking for symbols that demonstrate high revenue growth and strong cash flow, striving to buy stocks of what I consider to be the best companies. My screening criteria are very focused, with three core points:
1. Excellent fundamentals:Solid financial performance is the foundation.
2. Disruptive "story":Whether the company's business is changing people's lifestyles or the mode of social operations.
3. Strong competitive moat:The company's business has competitive barriers, making it difficult for larger competitors to emerge in the industry.
3. VCP technical analysis accurately captures Buy points.
Sam: In addition to fundamental research, I will combine the selection of Buy points.VCP technical analysis.I strive to make purchases at what I believe to be the best positions in the stocks of the most high-quality companies.
I will observe the process of stock price fluctuation contraction. When the fluctuation narrows to its limit, and the Volume simultaneously shrinks, it indicates that a breakout is approaching. When the stock price breaks through, key Buy points (called Pivot Points) will appear.I will choose to buy at these key points.
Determining entry points:
1. Stocks are in the second phase of the upward trend,
2. A breakout occurs with increased Volume, showing price rise with increased Volume and price drop with reduced Volume.
3. The stock price is above the 200MA.
Follow-up observation after VCP appears:
1. After an upward breakout, a follow-up price trend appears.
2. Tennis behavior appears: after backtesting, the price rises strongly.

Q: What strategies exist for buying and selling points?
Sam: As a medium to long-term investor, the choice is to Buy.Enter in batches.. The principle for Sell is"Sell when strong."If unusual signals appear (such as consecutive large bearish candles), I will choose to sell 1/3 or 1/4 of my position, not liquidate all at once.

Sam: I work in the IT Industry focusing on ERP, which gives me direct insight into PLTR's Business. Their technology far surpasses the systems I encounter in my work, able to transform vast amounts of chaotic data into logical data that can drive AI learning. Moreover, it serves the U.S. government and the Department of Defense — involved in homeland security's sensitive business, proving its technological strength! This perfectly aligns with my three major Stock Screener criteria:Strong fundamentals, potential to change corporate efficiency and society, and a leading position in the Industry.
Therefore, when I saw its huge potential at ten to twenty dollars, I chose to gradually open positions, purchasing for the first time in June 2023, continuously increasing my holdings, and at its peak, my profits accounted for more than sixty to seventy percent of my Hold Positions.
High position reduction logic:Whenever itspattern shows a VCP rapid rise trend, when it strays too far from the 20MA and 50MA, I will take advantage of its strength to Sell.,在他80+和120+的時候我都有減倉鎖住盈利,在25年初,它回調到90的時候我又重新買入。現在倉位大概都有4成。單是PLTR一隻股票,就為我帶來了超過0.6 million美元的利潤。我長期依然堅定看好PLTR,計劃將其維持在三分之一左右倉位。目標展望:2030年,500美元!

PLTR VCP
Operational strategy:Started building positions in November last year, took profit on 1/3 at over $60 in February, replenished at the low in April, and took partial profit again at the high in June. Currently holding about 13% of positions, bullish in the long term.

Q: What other potential stocks meet the stock selection criteria?
Sam: I focus deeply onthe AI and Medical Services sector, committed to exploring"the elites among elites."Currently, there are four stocks that are very promising:
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ the future growth engines rely on Robotaxi and Robotics, which still have upward potential.
$NEBIUS (NBIS.US)$ Originally a Russian tech giant (often called the Russian version of Google), it reorganized after the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The core business is AI services, operated by an experienced team, with extraordinary potential in the AI field.
$Oscar Health (OSCR.US)$ An innovative medical stock similar to HIMS, with strong fundamentals. Technically, it also presents a cup and handle pattern, with chart formations reminiscent of early HIMS and PLTR.
$SoFi Technologies (SOFI.US)$ A CNI Xiangmi Lake Fintech Index company, with extremely impressive user growth data.

OSCR cup and handle pattern.
V. Winning mindset: Investment advice for mooers.
Q: What suggestions do you have for novice users?
Sam:"Don't TIME the market, just TIMING in the market."
I find this sentence to be very inspiring. Many people mistakenly believe they can predict everything, but it is very difficult to succeed every time in making those predictions. I use the S&P $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ as an example: long-term holding may yield a 500% return, but if you miss the best 10 days of growth, the ROI drops dramatically to around 200%.Do not attempt to predict or judge the market conditions.Focus on stock selection and strategy, rather than predicting short-term fluctuations.

Sam: Finally, I want to share a few books with everyone. If you want to study VCP technical analysis, the book《超級績效》by Mark Minervini will definitely be helpful to everyone. As for books related to mindset, written by Howard Marks, the founder of Oak Tree Capital Management, 《投資最重要的事》He explained the second-level thinking and market cycle concept. If experienced in investing, clarity may emerge from issues that were once perplexing.

Q: What useful features of Futu would you recommend to mooers?
Sam: I think Futu's Stock Screeneris actually a very good feature; it can efficiently filter symbols from a vast number of stocks. I personally often use three core filtering conditions:
Moving Average Indicators (MA):Only filter stocks that are in a bullish moving average alignment, completely avoiding weak stocks.
Market Cap filtering:Companies with a market cap below 1 billion USD are not considered.
Volume screening:Companies with an average daily volume below 1 million are directly excluded.
