What is the potential of the photovoltaic industry?

The wind and solar power industry has both cost advantages and policy support. What do institutions think about its future development potential?
According to Bocom International, under the carbon neutrality goal, the proportion of non-fossil energy in China's primary energy consumption will reach 25% by 2030 (15.3% in 2019). PV power generation is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 12% from 2020 to 2050, with cost and low-carbon advantages, and account for about 40% of the national power generation by 2050...

HTSC believes that currently, wind power projects have good economic efficiency, and coupled with state-owned enterprise installation targets, it is expected that wind power installations will reach 50-60GW this year, with most installations taking place in the second half of the year.
Swhyhk pointed out that from January to May 2022, the utilization rate of major river basins in China reached 99.4%, the average utilization rate of wind power reached 95.6%, and the average utilization rate of photovoltaic power generation reached 97.4%. Chinese companies occupy almost 80% of the production capacity share in every stage of solar cell panel manufacturing.
Soochow believes that with the commissioning of the first batch of wind and solar power mega-bases, wind power installations are expected to increase significantly in the second half of 2022, coupled with the reopening of bidding in 2022 to support large-scale installations in 2023, the wind power industry's prosperity is expected to continue, the competitive landscape is better, and the marginal improvement in profitability of parts and components is expected to benefit deeply.
HSBC Research indicates that according to data from the National Energy Administration, China's wind power installed capacity in the first five months of this year increased by 39% year-on-year. The forecast for wind power installed capacity from 2022 to 2025 has been revised upwards from 50, 55, 60, and 65 gigawatts to 55, 60, 65, and 70 gigawatts.
