Due to the current lack of a specific 'children’s food' category in the market, it is often challenging for parents to identify food that meets children’s dietary standards.
According to DingDong's recent survey on 'Children’s Food Consumption' among parents, only 54% of parents said they check the ingredient list and nutritional information when purchasing children’s food.
Shen Qiang, head of DingDong's Food Research Institute, pointed out that not all products labeled as 'children’s' are necessarily suitable for children; the most important thing is to look at the ingredient list. Our 'Mother's Strict Selection' was the first in the industry to display the ingredient list and nutrition facts prominently on the product page, accompanied by explanations from registered dietitians to help parents make informed decisions.
At the same time, all children’s food sold by DingDong strictly follows the 'Children’s Food Selection Standards 2.0'. Ingredients containing trans fats or genetically modified components are prohibited. The products must be low in sugar and salt, with sugar content not exceeding 5% in principle and sodium content kept below 450mg wherever possible, eliminating foods that do not meet children’s nutritional needs.
To allow parents to arrange their children’s meals more conveniently and scientifically, the platform also offers a solution combining products, content, and services through text, videos, live lectures, and more, guiding parents to understand proper dietary practices, eating behaviors, and their relationship to children’s health.

Children’s food ingredients are overseen by an expert panel to ensure standardization.
Parents in different regions show varying preferences for types of children’s food.
For example, parents in Shanghai and Jiangsu lean towards breakfast items such as rice and noodle products, milk, and eggs. Among the best-selling children’s food products are 'Liangxin Craftsman' mini flower rolls, Chongming original grain pigeon, and Fisherman Baoluo emerald shrimp.
Nutritious breakfast is particularly important for school-age children. Shen Qiang introduced that the first products we independently developed and produced were breakfast items, such as the highly popular 'Liangxin Craftsman' mini meat buns, which come from our self-built bakery factory. The raw materials are directly sourced from the base, and the pork in the meat filling comes from specific breeding bases, ensuring that every process and standard is fully controllable, truly achieving full transparency and traceability of children's food.
Parents in the Guangdong region prefer high-protein fresh ingredients when selecting food types, such as organic pure milk supplied to Hong Kong, Tang Shun Xing chilled fresh whole pigeons, Fisherman's Bao Luo salmon fillets, and edible fresh eggs, among others.
Parents in the Beijing region tend to favor organic food when choosing ingredients. The top five best-selling children’s foods are: Hongxiangzhai Selected Antibiotic-Free Safety Eggs, organic fresh milk, organic chives, organic onions, and BAP globally certified live perch.
Shen Qiang introduced that the fresh ingredient bases for “Moms’ Strict Selection” all come from organic bases or bases with international certification qualifications. A team of experts in contract farming strictly oversees the entire process, truly realizing 'a complete supply chain from seed to table.'
