On February 28, 2022, at 10:50, the China Power Changshu Power Generation Unit Energy Storage and Frequency Regulation Project was successfully energized, marking the final countdown phase of the project's commissioning.

As one of the first energy storage demonstration projects within the China Power system, Changshu Power Generation Company attaches great importance to it and actively cooperates with the project builder, Xinyuan Smart Energy Storage Company, in the pre-project reporting, construction coordination, safety and quality management, ensuring the smooth progress of the project. Currently, the project has entered the equipment commissioning stage.
The energy storage and frequency regulation project started construction in September 2021, with a total capacity of 30 MW/30 MWh. It is expected to begin trial operation by the end of March 2022. The project can effectively enhance the frequency regulation auxiliary service response capability of the generating unit, fill in the gaps of the thermal power unit regulation response, and help the unit achieve benefits in the auxiliary service market.
