New infrastructure and new layout | Based in Huidong, WDS builds a data center base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

In the fourth quarter of 2020, WDS selected Huidong County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province to build the WDS Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Data Center. The project is located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Huizhou) Data Industrial Park, covering an area of about 200 acres.

After operation, the GDS Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area data center base will become a green, energy-efficient, technologically advanced and highly targeted world-class data center, and will also be linked with the company's data centers in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong to further improve the layout of GDS in the Greater Bay Area and provide stronger support for innovation and development in the entire region.
WDS is committed to building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area data center base as a benchmark base integrating the functions of “resource leasing”, “cloud computing service platform”, “cloud data service” and “communication service” to promote the deep integration of big data, artificial intelligence and various industries. Wanguo Data has always adhered to the construction concept of “green and low-carbon, intelligent environmental protection, and technological innovation” and the construction principle of “high standards and characteristics”, and gradually improved the layout in the country's core economic regions around the new infrastructure strategy.

As of the first quarter of 2021, GDS has deployed 70 data centers across the country, including 13 in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In Shenzhen and Guangzhou, the twin-engine cities of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, GDS has deployed a total of 11 data centers. Construction of the first self-built data center in Hong Kong officially began in February this year. It is expected to be officially opened and put into operation in mid-2022. The deployment of the Hong Kong No. 2 data center will also begin in the future. Through the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area data center base, Universal Data will continue to take root in and radiate the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, comprehensively build a stable, highly available and compliant data center ecosystem, provide customers with a full range of one-stop services, and promote the new digital economy in the Greater Bay Area.
