Analysis of Tesla's Q3 production and sales report
Tesla released its Q3 production and sales report as follows:
It produced 365,000 units, which is slightly above expectations. It delivered 343,000 units, which appears slightly below expectations, prompting many uninformed individuals to start complaining.
Let’s look at market expectations
Tesla has clearly explained that all undelivered vehicles have already been ordered and will be handed over to customers upon arrival at their destinations.
In fact, it can be inferred that nearly 22,000 vehicles are currently on cargo ships, most likely produced in Shanghai. Due to a significant increase in Shanghai's production capacity, outpacing order growth, some cars were allocated to overseas customers but required choosing cargo ships with reasonable freight costs, causing delays. Since these 22,000 cars emerged in September, finding affordable cargo ships on short notice wasn't easy, which is why BYD also considered building its own ships to transport cars.
Production has been completed, and all deliveries are based on orders. A two-day delay in delivery does not affect performance.
So,My view is that overall, it meets or even slightly exceeds expectations.

BYD’s deliveries this month may be around 200,000 units, surpassing Tesla's deliveries for this quarter. However, surpassing Tesla in delivery volume does not mean being stronger than Tesla. Tesla is expected to make a profit of $10,000 per vehicle this quarter, totaling approximately $3.4 billion.
As for BYD, it is estimated that the profit per vehicle...
