Buffett has made another move. On January 27, Berkshire Hathaway sold 1.5545 million BYD H-shares, reducing its stake from 13.04% to 12.9%. In 2008, Buffett invested approximately HKD 1.8 billion to subscribe to 225 million BYD H-shares at HKD 8 per share. Over the subsequent 14 years, BYD experienced ups and downs, but the Oracle of Omaha didn’t sell a single share. It was only last year, when BYD became the global leader in new energy vehicles, that Buffett's return on investment in BYD reached more than 20 times, prompting his first reduction. Buffett had a similar operation with PetroChina, earning a 10-fold profit.
