On March 5 Eastern Time, Bloomberg reported that U.S. officials have drafted proposed regulations to restrict the shipment of AI chips worldwide without U.S. approval. The proposed rules would require companies to apply for U.S. permission to export nearly all AI chips produced by companies such as NVIDIA and AMD, expanding current restrictions covering about 40 countries to a global scale.
